29/09/2000 September 29, 2000 (Las Vegas, NV) - From sports to entertainment, tune in to the airwaves and you will hear all the action, center-'Strip' Las Vegas at the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. With more than 100 hours of programing monthly, there are plenty of live radio and television shows at the Imperial Palace daily, where you can either partipate or just listen in to hot talk.
Monday through Friday, Don Tegeler, Bill Fitzgerald and the world of sports take center stage with 'Sports Corner,' 5 to 7 p.m. on the Talk America II Radio Network, Cable Radio Network and locally on KRLV 1340 AM. Broadcast live from the Imperial Palace Race & Sports Book, Don and Bill, take a daily look at sports news, scores and opinions from their many listeners across the country. Every Tuesday, the first hour, 5 to 6 p.m., is taped for television, airing across the country on the American Independent Network and locally on Cox Cable Metro 48, Thursdays, 11 p.m to 1 a.m., and on KEEN TV-17, Fridays from 8 to 9 p.m.
Recently, the 'Sports Corner' correspondents, which also includes Coach Harvey Hyde, Marty Rodick, John Hanson and Pedro Fernandez, were joined by a new sports correspondent, 1982 Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker. Walker, who played in the USFL and, later, for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL, adds his sports expertise to the show, either in person or by phone while he is traveling the country promoting Renaissance Man Internation L.L.C., a minority-owned business in which Walker serves as Chairman and CEO.
Also broadcasting live from the Imperial Palace Race & Sports Book on the third floor every Monday is Tim Neverette's 'The Imperial Sports Hour' from 4 to 5 p.m., which airs locally on KLAV 1230 AM.
Saturdays kick off with Ralph Sirocco's 'Race Day Las Vegas,' a weekly look at horse racing, airing from 9 to 11 a.m. on KRLV, and end with Pedro Fernandez' boxing show 'Ring Talk,' aired from 8 to 9 p.m. on the Talk America Radio Network and locally on KRLV.
In between those two shows, the stars come out to play in the Grand Salon of The Auto Collections for "Backstage Live with Gary Campbell and Connie Ross," Saturdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Billed as one of Las Vegas' best FREE lounge shows, "Backstage Live" features entertainers, interviews and performances, broadcast in front of a live studio audience in "the most expensive studio in the world." Talk America Radio Network and Cable Radio Network originate 'Backstage Live', and it airs in the Las Vegas area, live, on KNUU 970 AM, Saturdays 6-8 p.m., and on tape delay on Sundays 9-11 p.m. on KXNT 840 AM. 'Backstage Live' is also seen nationally on television on the American Independent Television Network and locally on Cox Cable Metro 48, Saturday and Sunday nights, from 11 p.m. to midnight. KEEN TV 17 airs the show Fridays 9 to 11 p.m.
On Sundays, the Imperial Palace All Stars flood the airwaves with 'Sports Las Vegas Style,' featuring shows from 4 until 10 p.m. John Hanson starts off the festivities in the race & sports book with 'Gametime,' from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by Bill Fitzgerald and the All Stars from 5 to 7 p.m. For the next hour, 7 to 8 p.m., Walt Reno steps in with Don Tegeler for 'This Week in Golf,' before another round of Pedro Fernandez and 'Ring Talk' from 8 to 10 p.m. 'Sports Las Vegas Style' airs on Talk American II and Cable Radio Networks and locally on KRLV.
The Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino is also proud sponsors of Ron Futrell's 'Future Sports' radio show on KDWN 720 AM, Thursdays from 8 to 9 p.m., Harvey Hyde's 'Sportopics,' Sundays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Don Tegeler's 'Sinatra & Company' airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. on KLAV and Saturdays at midnight on Cable Radio Network.
