| OPRAH'S GUEST GETS HIS 'BIG BREAK' IN 'LEGENDS IN CONCERT' |
24/04/2000 April 24, 2000 (Las Vegas, NV) - When M.L. Jordan belted out 'What A Wonderful World This Could Be' on the Dick Clark produced television show 'Your Big Break,' he had no idea how true those words could be. Performing a stunning tribute to Louis Armstrong, Jordan not only has advanced to the finals competition on the television show, but he has garnered more 'good news.' His performance was brought to the attention of John Stuart, creator of the world-famous 'Legends In Concert,' entering it's 18th-year of entertaining audiences at the beautiful center-'Strip' Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, by 'Your Big Break' and Oprah Winfrey. On a segment of her own show called 'Good News,' Oprah surprised Jordan with the news that he will fulfill a life-long dream, to perform on stage, center-'Strip' Las Vegas in 'Legends In Concert' at the Imperial Palace on May 18, 2000. 'Legends In Concert' was the first large celebrity tribute, look-alike, sound-alike production to be staged in a main showrrom on the Las Vegas 'Strip' when it opened in 1983. On May 18, it celebrates its 17th anniversary and welcomes the five-millionth customer to walk through the Imperial Showroom doors since the show opened. It features celebrity-tribute performers who recreate the look, voice and persona of superstar entertainers, while singing to live music. (Unlike most other shows of this genre, there is no lip-synching in any 'Legends' production.) The cast is supported by a host of singer-dancers and a live band. Jordan's world has become quite 'wonderful' ever since his girlfriend forced him into auditioning for 'Your Big Break.' He is currently employed as a construction worker, a job which he enjoys very much because 'it's always something different and I get to be outdoors.' His amazing singing talent is a big hit with his friends and co-workers and he is ofter asked to sing at their functions. 'Legends In Concert' performs twice nights, 7:30 and 10:30 p.m., except Sundays, in the Imperial Theatre located on the third floor of the beautiful center-'Strip' Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. Tickets are $34.50 for adults, including tax, tip and two drinks. Children 12 and under are $19.50. For reservations, call (702) 794-3261. A dinner and show package is also available. |
