| Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic Tournament - February 20 & 21 |
02/02/2004 Most highly regarded men”s collegiate tourney on Eastcoast • In conjuntion with players” and coaches” clinics The Volleyball Hall of Fame and Springfield College are teaming up again to bring big-time volleyball to volleyball fans, coaches, and players throughout the Northeast on Friday and Saturday, February 20 & 21. The Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic Tournament features Ohio State, Penn State, the University of California at Irvine, and host Springfield. Holyoke, MA - February 02 2004--The matches at Blake Arena for the 17th annual event begin on Friday with Ohio squaring off with UC-Irvine at 6 p.m. and Springfield against Penn at 8 p.m. Action on Saturday marks the consolation match at 6 p.m. and the Championship at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are: $3 for youth and students and $5 for adults each night. The Morgan Classic Players Clinic, will be offered at Springfield College on Saturday, February 15. Volleyball players have the opportunity to learn skills from the players and coaches from the tournament teams. This year, a special Morgan Classic Coaches Clinic has been added, as well. Springfield College Coaches Charlie Sullivan and Joel Dearing will instruct the class. Clinic fees are $50 per person and include one ticket to Saturday”s matches. “Our goal is to bring the best volleyball action to the region for vball fans and as a great way to introduce new fans to the game. These are some of the very best men”s teams in the country,” said Steve Corrigan, president of the Volleyball Hall of Fame. “We invite everyone to bring their families to see the great sport of volleyball - played at the highest levels.
