21/08/2001 Robbery and mayhem at Atlantic City Casino
A dispute over a card game at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City resulted in guns being drawn, robbery, carjacking and a police chase.
?We've never had anything like this," said Rick Santoro, vice president of the Trump Organization.
During the argument in a guest room at the casino, five victims were tied up and $5,500 was stolen. The thieves made off but not before one of the victims, Jeffrey Barnes, managed to escape. He chased them and fired at them. Since he fired a shot during the pursuit, Barnes was charged with a weapons violation.
The police managed to apprehend one suspect, Carlos Cutler but two are still at large, having escaped by hijacking a car.
