CAESARS PALACE CELEBRATES MOTHER'S DAY

LAS VEGAS - In celebration of Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, The Palatium buffet and Caf? Roma restaurants at Caesars Palace will be offering lavish variety in champagne breakfast and brunch buffets. In addition, the Terrazza Italian restaurant at the resort will feature an ? la carte brunch menu with Mother's Day specials and champagne by the glass from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Caf? Roma will serve a Mother's Day champagne brunch, featuring eggs and omelets made to order; fresh fruits and berries; smoked Scottish salmon, imported and domestic cheeses; assorted mini bagels, croissants, muffins and Danish; cinnamon apple pancakes, smoked bacon and sausage; cheese blintzes with strawberry and blueberry sauces; quiche, potatoes O'Brien; biscuits with country gravy; eggs Benedict, Belgian waffles, honey-glazed ham, and a holiday selection of pies, cakes and desserts. Seating will be available from 7 to 11:30 a.m., priced at $14.95 per person (plus tax), half-price for children ages 4 - 12 years old, and free admission for children 3 years of age and under with accompanying adult purchase.

Caf? Roma will continue its Mother's Day champagne brunch from noon to 4 p.m., adding to the previous buffet iced shrimp and North Shore Crab Legs; a medley of exotic salads; marinated and grilled vegetables; lobster bisque; roasted orzo pilaf; scallop and shrimp stew; a carving station offering ham, baked salmon in puff pastry with dill sauce, roasted loin of pork and herb-and-salt crusted roasted prime rib of beef; and Chinese specialties such as Caesars' special chow mein, assorted seafood in garlic sauce and Kung Pao chicken. The lunch price will be $19.95 per adult (plus tax), half-price for children ages 4 - 12 years old, and free admission for children 3 years of age and under with accompanying adult purchase.

The Mother's Day dinner buffet at Caf? Roma from 6 to 10 p.m. will highlight lobster bisque; a variety of chilled seafood, cheeses, fruits and salads; bourbon mashed sweet potatoes; medallions of beef with gorgonzola potato risotto; grilled swordfish with Mediterranean relish and balsamic syrup; sweet-and-sour chicken; fried rice; penne pasta with rock shrimp, tomatoes, and arugula; Oriental spareribs; herb-and-salt-crusted prime rib of beef au jus; and salmon in puff pastry with dill sauce. Seasonal vegetables and a holiday selection of fresh breads, pies, cakes, and desserts will round out the meal. The price will be $19.95 per person (plus tax), half-price for children ages 4 -12 years old, and free admission for children 3 years of age and under with accompanying adult purchase.

The Palatium (pronounced puh-LAY-shum) will join in the festivities with The Palatium Mother's Day buffet from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Breakfast specialties will be offered, and omelets and eggs will be cooked to order, until 3 p.m. The lavish selection will include shrimp bisque and chicken noodle soup, a variety of pastas and sauces, an assortment of appetizers, relishes and antipasti. The featured salads and chilled offerings will be marinated flank steak with salsa fresca; bay shrimp with shell pasta, celery, carrots and peas; and creamy yellowfin tuna with dill topping; marinated vegetables; tropical fruits and more. Caesars will offer chilled seafood favorites like prawns with cocktail sauce, Pacific crab legs, New Zealand mussels, creamy herring, smoked trout, and lox with traditional condiments. The carving station will present roasted prime rib au jus, roasted turkey breast, glazed ham and garlic-roasted baron of veal. Hot entr?es will include roasted cornish game hen with brandy cherry sauce, osso buco with fresh herbs, stuffed chicken cordon bleu, Chinese spare ribs with black bean sauce, broiled orange roughy with leeks and cilantro, New York steak with teriyaki sauce, deep-fried jumbo shrimps with spicy cocktail sauce, stir-fried rice, creamy mashed potatoes and fresh spring vegetables. Desserts will include a variety of cakes, pies and bananas Foster. The price will be $21.99 per person (plus tax), half-price for children ages 4 - 12 years old, and free admission for children 3 years of age and under with accompanying adult purchase.

Other Caesars Palace restaurants will serve from their regular menus. La Piazza Bakery will open at 7:30 a.m. with freshly baked European and American pastries, as well as a variety of coffees. La Piazza food court will be open in its entirety from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with ? la carte selections at its New York Deli, Caesars Salad Bar, and its Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, American, beverage and ice cream/frozen yogurt stations. The Empress Court will offer gourmet Cantonese and Mandarin dinners from 6 to 11 p.m. Neros will serve prime aged steaks and seafood dinners from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. The Hyakumi Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar will feature sushi and sashimi, and Teppan Yaki and ? la carte fine dining from 6 to 11 p.m. Elegant Italian cuisine will be enjoyed in Terrazza for lunch 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 to 11 p.m.
