WILLIAMSBURG, MI?The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians announced several changes for Traverse Bay Casino Resorts, starting with a name change to Traverse Bay Entertainment effective immediately.

On the east side of Traverse City, a major expansion of Turtle Creek Casino will be completed within the next three years, including the addition of a 10,000-seat outdoor ampitheater, expansion of the current gaming floor, three restaurants, a convenience store, a water tower, 800 additional parking spaces, and a 355-room hotel.

A 10,000-seat outdoor ampitheater is set for groundbreaking in the northeast valley adjacent to the casino be open for summer concert series at Turtle Creek Casino. Opening in May 2002, the entertainment facility will offer the ultimate outdoor experience with evening performances under the northern stars. State of the sound, lighting, and stage systems combine superior technology with the natural contours of the land to create a unique bowl-like setting, ideal for the very best in outdoor show quality from every seat. The current gaming floor will be expanded an additional 18,000 square feet. This follows the 2000 expansion of 38,000 square feet.

Traverse Bay Entertainment also plan to break ground in Spring 2002 for an 8-story, 355-room hotel with 21 suites. The hotel facility will offer a pool, arcade, kids entertainment area and is expected to open Spring 2003.

Plans to make Traverse Bay Entertainment a world-class tourist destination include the addition of an RV Park to The Beach, the accommodation facility owned by Traverse Bay Entertainment located on US 31 North. The existing 3-story condo/suite lodging will remain intact, however the existing office and motel will be removed to make room for the RV resort area.

On the west side, a new RV Park and 50 lodging chalets will be developed to accommodate guests of Leelanau Sands Casino. The site and plans are currently in development, with project completion expected in Spring 2002.

Employee relations will be enhanced with the implementation of a revolutionary new system that will focus on creating an ?entertainment-based? concept that encourages employees to ?perform? instead of ?work,? with incentives and flex time with reduced hours
