  • Horse Racing– gambling at the race track

All kinds of racing has always intrigued the human mind and this is especially true when speaking about horse racing. The rules of horse racing and the types of bets allowed are explained here.

    Rules of horse racing:

    1) You have to place your wager before the beginning of the race. You won’t be able to bet when the race begins. But if you do manage to bet even though the race has begun – the bet will be cancelled.

    2) Your winnings are calculated according to the odds of each and every bet.

While placing bets at the race track place one of these wagers:

Quinela – somewhat like ‘place’ only twice – means betting on the two horses. These horses must finish first and second in the race. You must select the horses that finish first or second in any order to collect the quinela payoff.

Trifecta –wagering on the three horses and the exact outcome of these three horses as to coming first, second and third.

Trifecta Wheel – like trifecta but here the order doesn’t have to be specific

Win – betting on the winning horse.

Place – betting on the horse that either comes in first or second.

Show – your horse must finish in one of the top three spots to win your bet.

Exacta - You may select any 2 horses to finish 1st and 2nd and the order must be specific.

Exacta Wheel – picking two horses in the same race. You win if they come first and second. Here the order may not be specific. You are also allowed to use combinations of numbers.

Daily Double – you must select the winning horses of two consecutive races. Generally this means betting on the winners in the first two races of the day, but sometimes they change it to the last two races.
